Linn Sondek LP12 turntable
motor & power supply upgrade
Linn Sondek LP12 reviewers who have tried the
origin
live dc motor kit have decided to keep it - thus replacing their
previous Linn Lingo, Armageddon or alternative turntable power
supplies. Upgrading to the Origin Live dc motor and power supply
from a Linn Valhalla or linn lingo power supply makes for a huge
upgrade in performance - Thankfully it is also very straightforward
and far less expensive than alternatives like the Lingo or Circus
upgrades. Even after the release of the newest Lingo version,
Origin Live proceeded to bring out a new motor with vastly improved
performance to maintain their performance lead. For full details
on this kit see Advanced
DC motor upgrade. The following photos show the advanced DC motor
kit installed on the Linn Sondek LP12 deck. Full instructions
are provided to assist this operation. It can be easily carried
out by anyone with a little DIY aptitude and generally takes about
20 minutes - It should not disturb the suspension set up so this
is not a worry. The modification is completely reversible (not
that anyone has ever wished to do this or gone back to their old
set up). For those who may wish to check out or reset up their
decks see
LP12 set up for full set up and tuning tips written by a previous
Linn dealer.

Remember this modification is completely reversible and requires
no special tools and no drilling or cutting of the Linn stainless
steel top plate. Lastly we offer a full money back guarantee
if not impressed.
NOTE: - The LP12 must be disconnected from the electrical mains supply for
all modification work. Once modified, the deck uses only a maximum of 12 volts
and is therefore much safer.
